จากการสัมภาษณ์ของ APCMag เจ้า HD2 นี่ ไม่ผ่านเกณฑ์เนื่องจากมันมีปุ่มเยอะเกินไป คุณ Natasha Kwan, General Manager ของ Microsoft’s Mobile Communications Business ในภูมิภาค Asia-Pacific region กล่าวว่า:

“Because we have very specific requirements for Windows Phone 7 Series the current phones we have right now will not be upgradable”; the HD2 “doesn’t qualify because it doesn’t have the three buttons”.

อนาคตที่ชัดเจนของมัน คงจะต้องหลัง MIX 10 วันที่ 15-17 มีนาคมนี้ ซึ่ง Microsoft จะเปิดตัว Tool ที่ใช้ในการพัฒนา และ Spec ของเครื่องอย่างเป็นทางการ
